Top 5 Items To Include in a Relaxing Spa Gift Basket

This post is sponsored by Unilever. The opinions and text are mine.

Can we normalize relaxing? I know when I was a young tired mama I felt like I always had to be “doing something” to feel productive. I’d seriously look for things to do so long as I wasn’t sitting around “relaxing. Now that I’m wiser I covet relaxation and try my best to convert others to the idea of carving out time for it too.

Relaxing for me is sitting in a hot bubble bath until the water get’s cold. It’s staying in bed a few extra minutes with my sleep mask on listening to the birds chirp outside of my window.

I am very in tune with giving myself time to be still and breathe which is why I knew I had to end this year by sharing some of my favorite ways to do it.Top 5 Items To Include in a Relaxing Spa Gift Kit

Creating a spa gift kit is super simple. Just use a sturdy box, a basket, a cute bag, or any object to hold the items. Then have fun shopping for items to fill it with.

These are some of my favorites for a Spa Gift Kit!

1. Exfoliating Body Polish or Scrub

Exfoliating body polishes or scrubs are top of my list because they work well in the bath, but especially when you only have time for a quick shower. In the morning before starting the day or ending the night with a good exfoliating shower does wonders for relaxation.

From the Sam’s Club promotion I got the Crushed Almond & Mango Butter Dove Exfoliating Body Polish. I use Dove in my skincare routine for its unique ¼ moisturizing cream that keeps my skin nourished and moisturized even after hot showers. Their new body polish pairs well with my current skincare routine especially in the colder months to combat ashy, dull skin.

Dove’s Exfoliating Body Polish is whipped, rich, and fragrant, nourishing my skin as it exfoliates.

How to use: In the shower or bath, scoop a generous amount of body polish from the container and spread all over your body in a circular motion, then rinse. The body polish is creamy to the touch, with a whipped texture and indulgent scent to buff away dull, dry skin, while nourishing the new layer underneath too. Follow up with Dove Beauty Bar so you’re left feeling soft and smooth after every shower.

2. Epsom Salt or pharmacy grade Magnesium Sulfate

Epsom Salt or pharmacy grade Magnesium Sulfate is a perfect addition to any holiday gift kit. You can buy a couple of pounds for under $5 and portion it into gift jars. If you really want to be fancy, you can add a few drops of essential oil to unscented Epsom salt to make the bathroom smell amazing.

How to use: Add two cups of Epsom Salt to warm bathwater. Soak for 20 minutes.

3. Bath Bombs

Bath Bombs are just super cute and can really take bath time up a notch. The fizzing action is very calming. Watching the bath bomb dissolve and release its components and fragrance can put you on the path to relaxation. The best bath bombs can be super extravagantly infused with essential oils, flowers, and color or simply 100% natural and free of additives.

How to use: Drop one bath bomb into a tub filled with warm water and allow it to dissolve.

4. Natural Loofah Body Sponges

Natural Loofah Body Sponges are perfect for exfoliating and reviving skin. If you like that tingly feeling your skin has after a good scrubbing, a loofah body sponge is a must for spa gift kits.

How to use: Wet the loofah until it is fully expanded and add body wash. Use it tp scrub skin clean. Loofahs are especially helpful for areas such as the back, hands and feet.

5. Scented Candle

Scented Candle or flameless candle should have probably been number one on the list. I love lighting a candle before taking a shower or bath. This is a great addition to spa gift kits because certain scents are designed to achieve specific results. You can literally sniff your way to relation with scented candles.

Here are 5 scents and their benefits.

  1. Lavender – Calming stress relief.
  2. Peppermint – Energy boosting and invigorating.
  3. Jasmine – Revitalizing.
  4. Vanilla – Reduce hyperactivity and restlessness.
  5. Eucalyptus – Reduces congestion and allows for freer breathing.
