Why Using a Cheap Wireless Plan for Your Child Makes Sense

This #Phones4School shop has been compensated by #CollectiveBias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.

I’ve been using Walmart’s cheapest wireless plans for about a year now. Each of my kids has a phone and use it to stay connected to me and their dad, as well as to organize their school year.

My oldest will start this school year with the Alcatel One Touch Evolove with unlimited talk, text and web for $34.88. It was the cheapest option for us versus adding him to our current plan.

The primary function of his phone is to keep in touch with mom and dad, and organize his school schedule.

One of the best features is the calendar.

He uses it to stay on track with assignments, after school practice and other important dates.

With school starting in just a few weeks, all of the children’s calendars are filling up with important dates.

An important date you may want to jot down is October 31, 2015. That’s the day the Walmart Family Mobile prices will change on this phone and their unlimited plan.

Right now, the Alcatel is on rollback at for $29.88 — down from $79.88. Unlimited talk, text and web have also been discounted from $39.88 to $34.88  through October 31, 2015.

That’s a great price for a mobile phone, plus the good thing about these phones is they require no contract and no credit check. If I feel like my kids are not using their phone for its intended purpose, I can simply cancel their service.

So far, we haven’t had any issues. If anything, it’s made staying in contact with the kids easier and it’s made organizing their school year simpler.

We get to stay in touch with our kids, they get a cell phone and we don’t bust the budget doing it.

  1. Notorious Spinks, you are so right. Parents are getting the call about emergencies now faster than the schools can send them out due to kids having cell phones. The nail polish is Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet. It's one of my favorite summer colors for brown girls.

  2. I love that your kids have phones. This day and age, it's so important for them to because they can call us and let us know something is going on at school and other place before the official people can. I hate it has to be like that but that's the age we live in. Love the nail polish, too.

Let's continue to conversation in the comment section.
