Fall Date Night tips for the Outdoorsy Couple

#advertisement I received compensation from Dr. Scholl’s® to write this post. All opinions are entirely my own. #CustomFitRelief #DrScholls Babe and I love to travel. In the last year we’ve been to Florida, Honduras, Georgia, Charlotte, Amsterdam, and Kenya! We’ve done so many fun things from touring the Kenyan safaris to walking the shores of Lake Elmenteita in the Great Rift Valley which is about 70 miles from Nairobi. Most of our travels include being on our feet, which often leads to foot and back pain. Since we don’t plan on slowing down, we had to put a plan in place to make sure our bodies could keep up with our adventures. A few years ago we started using Dr. Scholl’s® Orthotic Inserts, but a [Click here to continue reading]

The Courage to Pursue My Unique Future

It took courage for me to choose a path different from my friends. My story has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #StrengthHasNoGender #CollectiveBias I believe women have the ability to do one of the strongest things on earth and that is to give birth to children. I’ve served in the Army and law enforcement and none of the training and endurance amounts to the strength it took to carry and give birth to four amazing kids while building an amazing career.  Growing up I felt a certain stigma that women couldn’t do the same jobs, men did, so I followed in my mother’s footsteps and went after the most masculine jobs I could find. All opinions are mine alone. #MyTuesdayValentine #CollectiveBias Germaine and I will celebrate our seventeenth Valentine’s Day together this month and our sixteenth wedding anniversary in September. After all of these years, I still wake up excited to see his face every morning and excited to be his wife. We’re planning to celebrate Valentine’s Day the weekend before, but I still want to have a romantic breakfast on Tuesday.  To prep for our breakfast, I needed a few supplies so I sat down at my desk to plan before heading to the stores.  Using the American Greetings printable shopping list, I wrote down the people I [Click here to continue reading]

The Critical Role That Date Night Plays In Marriage

This is a sponsored post written on behalf of GlassesShop.com. All opinions are mine. How often do you plan date nights with your spouse? This year marks my 15th wedding anniversary and we have date night a few times a month.  If you have a modest income and small kids, you may be thinking, “We can’t afford a date night“. If you’re married, you can’t afford not to have a date night. Date nights don’t have to be elaborate or expensive. In fact, my husband and I used to have car dates when our kids were little and we couldn’t afford a babysitter. We’d put them down for bed, head out to car and sit there talking, arguing or making out. Yes…we argued sometimes, but [Click here to continue reading]

Virginia Date Night Outfit

Any chance I get to hang out with my babe I’m on board. Dating is a key component to our marriage. We love eating out, catching a new movie and spending time together. This weekend we were in Glen Allen Virginia. We knew before going up there, we were going to have two date nights and I was looking forward to them. I love getting dressed up for my babe. Today’s outfit was purchased just hours before taking this picture.  I don’t usually buy clothes and wear them the same day, but I thought I didn’t pack enough clothes so babe took me shopping. I later fond my missing outfit in my luggage under my laptop. Oops! I’m so glad I had the wardrobe snafu [Click here to continue reading]

My Weekend in Virginia Fashion Look Book

I spent a wonderful weekend away in Glen Allen, a small suburb in Richmond, Virginia. I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’d never been there. We were heading up for a family reunion and they weather was unseasonable hot. Since it would be hot I packed some super light weight pieces to wear.  The second day of the family reunion everyone headed to the mall at Short Pump Town Center for shopping and lunch. The temperature was about 97 degrees and I felt really cool in this sheer sequined tank top and ruffled skirt. I love the sparkle on this tank. It makes a typically tank top and bottoms look more glamorous. The front of the tank is completely sheer, so I wore a [Click here to continue reading]
