How to Dye Your Hair a Flaming Red at Home

How to Dye Your Hair a Flaming Red at Home

This shop has been compensated by Schwarzkopf. #FashionColorExpert #sponsored I get to experience some of the most breathtaking fall scenery in the south. Right now the leaves are beautiful hues of greens, browns, oranges, yellows and reds. The scenery has me excited for fall and has inspired me to try a bold new look. During the cooler months I love to style my hair in braids, twists and up-do’s which help it retain length. While planning my hairstyle for this month I thought it would look so dope with a bold pop of color. Inspired by the fall leaves, I decided to dye my hair using the Schwarzkopf Color Ultime Flaming Reds in the color Mahogany Red. To start, I parted my hair into four [Click here to continue reading]

How to create a High Puff with Tribal Headband

How to | High Puff with Tribal Headband

Today’s High Puff with Tribal Headband is inspired by my recent travel to Kenya. The country is so vibrant and colorful y’all. Everywhere you look from the city to the bush are bright, bold colors. The chocker I’m wearing is one of two I bought while there and the headband was a gift from a friend. She spent time in Africa and gifted me some fabric. Mine is straight from the ‘Mother Land’, but there are some gorgeous patterns here. The Puff To create the puff I started with freshly washed and blowdried hair. Braid Out on 4C Hair & New Rimmel London Matte Lipsticks

I’ve been loving the freedom that comes with having shorter hair and I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts. When my hair isn’t in a protective style, it’s usually worn in a blowout or twist out. When I do twist out, I can start with wet or dry hair depending on the look I’m going for. This one was done on wet hair which results in a smaller afro and tighter coiled hair. After my wash routine, I towel dried my hair and did the L.O.C. method for moisture. L.O.C. is an acronym for Leave-in-Conditioner, Oil, and Cream. With the L.O.C. method, I saturate my hair with my leave in, then use coconut oil to seal in the moisture and work the cream into my [Click here to continue reading]

I’m in 100% agreement with you and am going to show you how I color my hair at home to make my hair match my youthful face.  I’m coloring my hair using Schwarzkopf Keratin Color Anti-Age Hair Color in Espresso, with 100% gray coverage.  The kit comes with a pre-treatment designed to help achieve even color results. That’s good for me since I’m using a different brand than the last time I died my hair and I want my previously dyed hair to blend well [Click here to continue reading]

Post Big Chop 4C Hair Growth | 3 Month Update

Between my big chop in October 2016 and this January 2017 update, my hair has grown quite a bit. Not only that but 4C hair is super soft, relatively tangle free and healthy. I will share my haircare routine in another post but for today I want to document my growth and what I think is stimulating it.  Since my big chop in October, I’ve kept my hair in protective styles with either my own hair or added hair. My go to style with added hair has been Crochet braids using the 12″ Jumbo Mambo or Havana Twists.  This style is super easy and only takes an hour to install the hair.  It’s a great fuss-free style that allows my real hair to rest from [Click here to continue reading]
