Do it Yourself

Summertime Do It Yourself Deck Project

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This #CelebrateEVeryGoal shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for #CollectiveBias and its advertiser.

It’s almost summertime, according to the calendar, but with these ninety degree temperatures it feels like summer now.

We’ve already begun to enjoy the outdoors and celebrate in our backyard.

We love to grill and enjoy family time outdoors.

Just a week ago, we celebrated Memorial Day with a cookout and lot’s of sweets.

The next event we’ll celebrate is the end of the school year and the start of the summer sports season.

Before we can do that we have to repaint our upper deck and build our lower deck.

Our deck is two stories high, has no awning, and gets direct sunlight most of the day. In ninety degree temperatures that’s not good.

Our goal is to have the lower deck built and both decks built and painted before school ends for the summer.

We are weekend warriors and not experts so before working on the decks, I picked up some Johnson & Johnson BAND-AID® at Walgreens in case of minor injuries.

The BAND-AID® line was part of a current Walgreens Balance Reward promotion where you spend $15 on Johnson and Johnson products you get back 3,000 points (equal to $3).

Other products included in the promotion are AVEENO®, LISTERINE®, NEOSPORIN®, NEUTROGENA®, TYLENOL®, and ZYRTEC®.

Once the decks are finished, we’ll have some kids over to celebrate the start of summer. Many of them will be on my sons summer basketball and soccer teams.

Summer backyard parties will be a great way to let them have fun after games. This is one of our biggest summer goals so I want to get it out of the way early.

I’m thinking it would even be great to watch the soccer game on the projector with my Brazilian neighbors.

Having a new deck space for the big game would be an amazing reason to celebrate.

Spread the love
