I’m not gonna lie…I’m not a die hard football fan. I’m just a wife who supports her football loving family by creating fun football inspired meals during football season.
I love creating fun new recipes for my family and sharing them with you on the blog. This week I tried out an easy sour cream and cheddar cheese dip recipe that will be a staple for us this football season.
What I love about it is the ease to make. You already know, I don’t like complicated recipes, so trust that this one is super easy to make.
There are only four ingredients and it’s done in under 20 minutes.
Sour Cream and Cheddar Cheese Dip Tailgate Recipe
Pre Time: 15 mins | Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Wise Sour Cream and Cheddar Chips
- 8 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup of ranch dressing
- 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese
- slice of white cheese (provolone, munster, etc.)
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, combine the first three and mix well.
2. Next, crush up about one cup of Wise Sour Cream and Cheddar Chips until crumby. You can put them in a ziplock and crush with a mallet.
3. Dump the cheese mix onto plastic wrap and begin molding into the shop of a football.
4. Pour the Wise Sour Cream and Cheddar Chips until crumbs over the cheese football and begin moving the crumbs around until the ball is fully coated.
5. Create four strips of cheese from your white cheese to act as the laces on a football.
You can serve this right away or refrigerate for up to 72 hours.
I'm not a die hard football fan either but I do enjoy the snacks that go along with tailgate parties. This looks really yummy, especially since I'm a huge fan of dips.
This cheese dip looks yummy! We love chips and this recipe will make a great combo treats. My hub is going to love it.

Yum! I love a good snack! Who doesn't love a good sour cream dip! It is one of my favorite dips of all time. I love how you shaped this to make it like a football.
Thanks Carrie.
Nice appetizer for those hungry football fans. Love that you made an actual football shape that's cute. Great to a themed tablescape.
My hungry football fans loved it!
This would be so perfect to take to watch the game with friends next weekend! I may just have to try it!
They'd love it and it's very easy to make.

This is incredible! I Love football season (primarily for all the tailgating and the snacks!) Food just tastes so much better when it looks like a football 😉
Ha! It was surprisingly easy to create the shape.
I make a cheesy ranch dip that is very similar. It's a favorite around here, and so easy to make.
These dips are so easy to make and perfect for snacking and entertaining.
This is so cute and so simple. I love a good simple recipe. This would be great for football birthday parties too. I think my son wants a football themed party this year. 🙂 {client}
This recipe is super fun and can be made more on the sweeter side by using whipped cream and candy instead of ranch & cheese!
