Smack Down Snack Tray Tutorial

This post has been sponsored by Mars Wrigley Confectionery and WWE®. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hey folks, I got this idea to make something special for my son after seeing him watching WWE® over the weekend. He was lounging around and I thought it would be cool to let him snack in his room which I don’t typically allow. He’s 15 and has done a good job of keeping his room clean, so I thought now would be a good time to expand his privileges.

He won’t be allowed to eat in there all the time but only on special occasions, like when he’s watching WWE® Monday Night Raw or WWE® Smackdown, which is what inspired this tutorial. These SNICKERS® Hunger Bars with WWE®, available only at Dollar General® for a limited time, are what kicked off this idea.

You can find them at your closest Dollar General® now, they have the WWE® logo on the wrapper. Right now, they’re “Buy 3 Get 1 Free” with their downloadable couponmaking this a good time to stock up for Wrestlemania or just grab some for yourself and your family. While these are available, you can visit Dollar General® online to upload your photo and Superstar Yourself and save with their coupon! I’m going to get my kids to upload their faces and create a card which I’ll share on my Instastories later.

I started out by making just a tray for my son that included popcorn, water, and the new SNICKERS® Hunger Bars with WWE®, but then my daughter wanted in and I ended up with a WWE® snack station. The theme of this snack tray ties in my favorite candy bar and my son’s love for WWE®. The new SNICKERS® Hunger Bars with WWE® logo and are based on Superstar’s Catches, including Awesome, Glorious, Brut, Phenomenal and Ravishing.

Each phrase encourages you to slam your hunger and get back to being the best “you” ever. With SNICKERS® Hunger Bars with WWE®, you can “Slam your hunger and be _(fill in the blank)_.”

1- Awesome

2- Glorious

3- Brut

4- Phenomenal

5- Ravishing

Nothing has changed about these bars. They still have the same great peanut, caramel and nougat core, and milk chocolate coating, just in limited time packaging. My favorite way to eat a SNICKERS® bar is frozen. The freezer makes it crunchy, cold and delicious.

How to make a WWE Smack Down Snack Tray

I found the supplies at Dollar General®, and the rest were things I already had. I usually shop there when I want to get in and out of the store. It’s never crowded, and it’s small enough to find what I need and check out. For this tutorial, I just grabbed the candy, popcorn and straws.

Supplies

  • Shredded paper
  • Small serving tray
  • Mini water bottles
  • Popcorn
  • SNICKERS® Hunger Bars with WWE®
  • Craft rod 24 inches
  • Craft String
  • Hot glue
  • Hot glue gun
  • Straws
  • Printable bottle wrappers (here)

To create the fighting ring, I used a black wooden serving tray. I wanted something that wasn’t flimsy and could hold a snack and beverage.

To create ring posts, I cut a 24 inch craft rod into 4 inch long pieces. I used the hot glue gun to attach them into the corners of the tray. Once they were secure, I used craft string to create the top and bottom ring ropes. At this point, I was happy with the snack tray and moved on to wrapping the water bottles with the printable I made on my computer.

Once the bottles were wrapped, I loaded the snacks into grab-and-go containers. I ended up putting together a snack station so both my kids could grab what they wanted and take it to their rooms to relax. Here’s how it turned out.
