Do it Yourself, Home

Target Frugal Home Decor Finds

I have been updating my entire home one room a time. I’ve also been sticking to a strict budget for each room. To do that, I do a lot of window shopping looking or deals on home decor. I like nice things, but I won’t pay full price if I don’t have too.

Today I’m going to show you some of the things I bought for my home. Some of the things I’m thinking of buying, and some of what I liked but didn’t buy.

What I Liked But Didn’t Buy

I really liked the colors on the Jonathan Adler journals for $2. At that price I wanted to see them in my office, but the inside was just plain paper and I couldn’t justify buying another journal with no intended use for it.

These Under Armor headbands were a steal and had it been another day, I would have bought them. I was shopping for nightstand tables and had a strict budget. I figured, if I didn’t spend my entire budget, I’d go back and get these for $4.

Of course I went to Target and found some beautiful home decor items.

 Lumber Liquidator:

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite stores. I never go there and not see something I like. The have so many unique pieces.

Of everything I saw, I really wanted to take these pillows home with me, but I couldn’t find a price tag.

I had been on the hunt for nightstand tables ever since we remodeled our bedroom. The ones we were using no longer fit the space.

I didn’t find nightstands I absolutely loved, but I did find ones I could live with.

I wanted to make them a little more unique by adding different drawer pulls, but ended up keeping the originals.

I also picked up some contact paper from the Target Dollar Spot. I plan on lining some drawers with that grey chevron ($3).

I found these makeup dividers in the Dollar Spot as well. They are perfect to hold my lippies and some of my make up. I’ll show you how I use these $1 makeup dividers in a future post.

I’ve been seeing these pop up on the desks of so many people I follow on YouTube and the gram. I bought two in white to organize my journals. I’ll show you that later too.

There was so many new stationary items, and I grabbed a pack of sticky notes. I didn’t get these, but you’ll see which ones I did grab in the video I make about creating a daily schedule.

Finally, I ordered a mirror and the only reason I bought it is because I thought it was gold and made of metal.

When it arrived and I unboxed it I realized it was wicker and made of wood. It wasn’t what I expected, but I’m going to make it work.

We need and entertainment console for our den that sits pretty high and this one from Lumber Liquidator is just what I like. What I don’t like is the price tag. I’m going to keep looking around and hopefully be able to find something cheaper via Craigs List.

My husband and I have mismatch lamps on our nightstand since his broke a week ago. The tables are very tiny so I’m looking for small lamps and I like these from Lowes.

Finally, we want to add to chairs for a seating area in our bedroom. I want something pretty and as my husband likes to call, “uncomfortable”. He was comfortable, humungous, plush, grandpa chairs. We’ve gone back and forth about the chairs stating our cases for the type of chairs we prefer and I’m giving in. After sitting in both styles, I agree his style of chair is more comfy…it’s true, but they look hideous.
