- 2 cups International Delight Pumpkin Pie Spice
- 1/2 cup of canned Pumpkin
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of allspice
- 2 eggs
- 1 loaf of french bread
- a bottle of salted caramel syrup
- whipped cream (optional)
This is one of my favorite make ahead recipes for he fall. Once you made a batch, they can go right into the freezer and taken out individually as needed.
The first thing I do is start by slicing my french bread into one inch thick slices, then I mix all of my remaining ingredients together in a flat dish.
Once everything is nice and mixed, I oil my griddle and set the temperature on medium high. While my pan heats up, I begin dipping a few slices of my french bread into my pumpkin spice mixture. My mixture is semi think and creamy because of the pumpkin and the Pumpkin Pie Spice flavored International Delight.
I’ve made french toast using other International Delight flavors, but this one will give me the creamy swirl of the fall season spice flavors inspired by pumpkin pie that I’m looking for.
Once my pan was hot, I laid a few slices on it and cooked them until golden brown on each side. While the french toast browned, I made a hot cup of pumpkin spice flavored coffee to have with my breakfast.
Between the french toast browning on the stove and the creamer added to my hot cup of coffee, the whole kitchen was smelling like pumpkin spice. I don’t know about you but, stuff like this is what makes me enjoy cooking so much more.
Once my french toast was firm and a nice brown, I was ready to remove them from the heat.
How pretty do they look?

After getting them plated, I added one tablespoon of whipped cream, drizzled the french toast with salted caramel syrup and cinnamon. The extra slices went into a freezer bag for later on in the week.
