Patriotic Parfait Recipe

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Good Cook. All opinions are my own.

If you’ve watched my menu planning video you already know I try to prepare meals ahead as much as possible. Up until now it’s been difficult to prep fruits in advance because they start to get soft and mushy pretty fast once they’re cut.

So when Good Cook sent me their 3-piece fruit bowl I couldn’t wait to use it. The bowl comes with a lid which is great, especially if you are bringing a fruit salad to a picnic. It doesn’t seal, but it covers the top of the bowl to keep air and bugs out.  There’s also a colander that sits inside of the main bowl, which keep the fruit separated from any juice that comes from the fruit.

The bowl is a great size and right now, is available only at Bed Bath and Beyond.

I was in the mood for a parfait to go along with breakfast. With the fourth of July is next week, this will make a great breakfast side.

These patriotic parfaits are really simple to make. I used some cut strawberries and some whole blueberries to create the red and blue color.

The vanilla yogurt was used to create layers of white in between the two fruits.

I was going to stop there, but then I saw some dark chocolate granola and just had to have it. I made three 2 serving dishes for breakfast and one mini jar to enjoy right away.

This was one of the best parfaits I’ve ever tasted.

The fruit wasn’t wet and soggy and the dark chocolate granola just took the parfaits to the next level.

  1. That sounds good. Except for the granola. I haven't had a parfait in quite a while.
