Several years ago I decided being a mom doesn’t mean I give up looking and feeling great. Shortly after, I made a decision to get fit and never looked back. With school about to resume in a few weeks, I want to make sure I stay on track even though mornings will be a bit busier around here.
To stay fit I plan on exercising indoors and outdoors four to five days a week. I’ll also continue making healthy food choices and monitoring my fitness progress using the Walgreens’ Balance Rewards for healthy choices™ app. Walgreens created the app in an attempt to help it’s loyalty cardholders think about their health.
Rewards® points. It lets me earn points for tracking my fitness activity, as well as setting and achieving my health goals.
My goal is to exercise outside more, and doing so requires pre-planning. Temperatures are extremely hot here until October plus I have allergies. On days when I exercise outside I need lots of water and allergy medicine. Between me and my kids, we are always out of allergy medicine so I picked up some Benadryl before my work out.
I went to Walgreens because I knew I’d be to use my Walgreens Balance Rewards points earned from the Walgreens’ Balance Rewards for healthy choices™ app to offset the cost of my purchase.
Outdoor Fitness Routine
For my outdoor fitness routine I run sprints for 10 minutes, do three sets of 25 burpees, 25 high jumps and a minute worth of mountain climbers.
Sprints – 10 minutes
Burpees (3 sets of 25)
High Jumps – 25 times
Mountain Climbers – 1 minute
This quick exercise routine is perfect after my kids are off to school.
These are super intense exercises that have a high impact. They get my heart rate up in a short amount of time and help me burn more calories since I’m exerting a lot of energy.
Once I’m done, I record my fitness numbers in the Walgreens’ Balance Rewards for healthy choices™ app.
