Do it Yourself

Master Bedroom Makeover

We are steadily finishing up our master bedroom makeover one project at a time. In the previous bedroom makeover update, we’d just about finished one half of the bedroom.

We finished painting and installing the floors a few weeks ago and absolutely love how they turned out.

The biggest perk of these floors versus the carpet is how easy they are to clean.

I run over them once or twice a week and have the entire floor clean in minutes.

The last thing left to tackle on this side of our bedroom are window treatments. I’m in no hurry to get them because I love all of the beautiful sunlight that fills the room.

I especially love how cozy our room is even though it’s pretty long and narrow. I have been enjoying late mornings in bed.

In fact, it’s a challenge to leave this space each morning because I enjoy it so much.

Instead of purchasing new decor for this side of the room, I pulled some pieces I already owned from other parts of the house.

It’s always fun to see how things you already own look grouped together in a new spot. I think the Nate Berkus woven baskets work really well with this Craigslist dresser. I want to paint it so badly, but my husband does not like painted furniture. To help the wood dresser blend, I used a lot of earthy toned pieces. The terracotta pots and the woven mirror fit perfectly with the neutral colors in our room.

I am so excited at how our project is coming along. Aside from window treatments, we only plan to buy a large area rug and two recliners before we call this project complete.
