I hope you aren’t tired of seeing grilling recipes from me and Germaine. When I tell you we grill something just about every week of the summer, I mean it. This week we made slaw-topped Nathan’s Famous Beef Franks. I made an easy Mango & Sweet Onion Slaw for the franks, paired it with potato salad, fresh fruit and Honest Tea Peach Tea. If you need a simple lunch or dinner idea this is it, and the bonus is most of it is part of the Publix® summer sale.
From 8/17/19 to 8/30/19, you can get 2/$6 select King’s Hawaiian products, 10/$10 select Honest Tea products, 2/$7 during 8/22/19 – 8/28/19 for select Nathan’s Famous products, and BOGO for select Heinz products!
I grew up eating Nathan’s Famous Beef Franks at Coney Island every summer so making them for my family is a no brainer. I grew up in Queens and the official frank of Coney Island and New York City for that matter is Nathan’s Famous.
I love the savory flavor of Nathan’s Famous Beef Franks and it was just what I needed to contrast the sweetness of the Mango & Sweet Onion Slaw. If I’m going to eat a frank, it has to be 100 percent premium beef, that has no artificial flavors or colors, no fillers or by-products. Nathan’s Famous check all of the boxes. The best part is they’ve kept the same recipe for over 100 years. So, the taste I remember from my childhood, eating Nathan’s Famous Beef Franks at Coney Island, I tasted in this simple lunch I made for my family.
The franks were served hot off the grill in sweet King’s Hawaiian Hot Dog Buns topped with my Mango & Sweet Onion Slaw. I made a simple potato salad with just a little bit of creamy Heinz Real Mayonnaise and served watermelon slices. We love sweet tea in the summer but when I don’t want to make it from scratch, I use Honest Tea which is available in a variety of refreshing flavors.
