I am going to help all of us get and keep our sexy figures this year with all of the delicious smoothie recipes I’ve been sharing lately. With so many great recipes, there’s no reason we should exclusively be snacking on unhealthy junk.
Junk food doesn’t give us the fuel or energy we need, nor does it help us get closer to our fitness goals. All it does is fill an immediate craving and in the end sabotages us.
And we don’t want that right?
One of the ways to ensure you’re eating a mix of healthy snacks is by being intentional about what is in the snack section of your menu. Of the seven days in a week, just make sure most of them include a healthy snack like this Layered Kale and Tropical Fruit Smoothie.
To make it I used my NutriBullet PRO 900. This machine is super powerful and compact. I love that it takes us so little space on my counter and is able to break down tough ingredients in seconds. I got mine around Christmas and love how easy it is to use. When you’re ready to order one, use my exclusive link and you’ll save 15% on the PRO 900 and get free shipping.
The NutriBullet Pro 900 comes with:
- the power base
- extractor blade
- a flip top to-go lid
- a 32oz Colossal Cup with Lip Ring
- a 24oz Tall Cup with Handled Lip Ring
- a recipe book
- a pocket-sized ingredient guide.
You can watch my full unboxing video at the end of this post for a better idea of each of these items.
One of the first recipes I made using the NutriBullet, was a Layered Kale and Tropical Fruit Smoothie. I wanted a smoothie something packed with iron and full of energy.
To make this smoothie I used dark leafy greens and bright yellow fruit.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of Organic Kale
- 1/2 cup of Organic Spinach
- 1 cup of frozen Organic Tropical fruit (peaches, mango, pineapple)
- 1 Banana
- 2 cups of Almond milk or protein
- 1 cup of Ice
- Honey (optional)
If you’ve never had a green and find the taste too strong, consider mixing all of your ingredients versus layering them. The sweet fruit mix with the bitter greens creates a smooth flavor for those new to green smoothies.

Wow, this looks so fancy!! I always avoided any sort of greens in my smoothies because I was fearful that it'd taste too "vegetable-y." I FINALLY tried it after many, many years and realize you can't taste it at all!
That smoothie has great color and would be perfect for St Patrick's Day. I've heard lots of good things about the NutriBullet.
