For Christmas my husband took me up to the Biltmore House in Asheville North Carolina where we toured the property early in the day and attended a wine tasting that night. It was one of the most romantic dates, and I was able to learn a a lot about wines and how to pair them. While I’m still no expert, I did learn a few things I’d incorporate at a get-together.

For a summer get-together I’d choose affordable and flavorful wine like Sutter Home

Their Moscato and NEW Moscato Blends are perfect choices and are available in Moscato/Riesling, Blend, Moscato/Chardonnay, Blend Moscato, Pink Moscato, and Red Moscato. With so many varieties, you’ll always have something for everyone.

For an intimate event, I’d pair my wine with flavorful finger foods. If Sutter Home Pink Moscato were on the menu, I serve it with fresh fruit, baked goods and Brie Cranberry Stuffed Crescent Rolls.

Brie Cranberry Stuffed Crescent Rolls
Brie Cranberry Stuffed Crescent Rolls are a soft flavorful mix of tartness from the cranberry sauce and gooeyness from the Brie.

  • 8oz. can of refridgerated crescent rolls
  • 8 oz. can of jellied cranberry sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 6 oz. of brie cheese

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Separate crescent rolls into individual triangles. Place a piece of brie and a cranberry sauce near the wider end of the triangle. Begin rolling the dough, making sure to tuck in and pinch closed any openings.

2. Repeat with remaining triangles and place them on a greased baking sheet. Whisk one egg in a small bowl and brush a little over each roll. Bake according to crescent roll packaging.

I like to place my rolls and fruit on a large platter with small plates and wine glasses nearby.

To add another layer of flavor, I serve Berry Glazed cupcakes which are tart, sweet and yummy with Sutter Home pink moscato.
