Here’s a recipe that will help shed pounds around your waistline using easy to find ingredients found at Walmart.
My waist is down from 31 inches to 27 inches. I’ve been active on and off much of my adult life but getting a handle on my eating habits has been a real hindrance.
A few months ago I decided to do something I’ve been contemplating for year.
I became a vegetarian. My diet now consist of primarily fruits, vegetables and gluten free bread and pastas.
If I’m not steaming vegetables, I’m sautéing them in olive oil. One of my favorite dishes is sauteed green beans in garlic and olive oil. I’m a busy wife and mom of four so being able to quickly prepare meals is important.
This meal is time friendly and even my kids love it. I use the following ingredients found at my local Walmart.
- Green Beans
- Star Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil for Vegetables
- Fresh Garlic

Before making healthier food choices I used to sauté foods in butter, now I use olive oil because it’s lower in fat and cholesterol.
So here’s how I make this dish.
When they are cool, I drain them and set them aside.
Add 2 tablespoons of STAR olive oil to a non-stick pan and heat on medium heat.
Begin sautéing the garlic for no longer than 30 seconds until opaque or translucent.
Now add the green beans to the pan, sprinkle with salt, and toss together.
Turn off the pan and allow a minute for the green beans to heat through.
