Since 2016, I’ve travelled the world with a teams of medical professionals, teachers, wives, fathers, college students and various people in other fields to help in areas with high needs. About 10 years ago I decided I wanted to do more with my gifts, talents and resources to help others. I was drawn to was world missions and in a nutshell, it’s the the task of going wherever in the world there are needs and filling them. Finding Your Strength in your Purpose So far, I’ve volunteered on a construction team in Honduras building schools and housing. I also volunteered in Kenya on an education and medical team. The travel, risks and the work involved is physically hard and sometimes dangerous depending on the areas where we travel.Finding Your Strength in your Purpose

Each time I’ve met amazing, brilliant, strong women like myself who have given of themselves to make other people’s lives better. Each time I’ve gotten to share my story, hear their stories and celebrate achievements. As a woman, I’ve had people try to talk me out of volunteering, suggesting that I volunteer in the states where it’s safer. If I followed that advice I would have never gotten to travel to so many amazing places and meet so many amazing women. Women who have given up their comforts here in the states to live beside women with less than them. Women who were born in other countries and are making great strides to impact they communities.Finding Your Strength in your Purpose Finding Your Strength in your Purpose

Making a bold decision to become an international volunteer takes courage, strength, selflessness and resilience. These are the qualities Brawny® identifies in SHEroes in their Strength Has No Gender™ campaign. The campaign  highlights the inspirational stories of everyday women in cities across America who have broken down barriers in traditionally male-dominated industries and empowering others.

They describe SHEroes as women who stand up for what they believe in, puts others before themselves, faces adversity head on and overcomes obstacles. Brawny is recognizing women like myself during Women’s History Month, and encouraging them to tell their story of SHEroism with #StrenthHasNoGender campaign.Finding Your Strength in your Purpose
