Do it Yourself

DIY Wall Art for Under $15

How would you like to create a beautiful art piece for under $15?

After painting and furnishing my office, I knew I wanted a big piece of artwork for the wall but large pieces are pricey.

Instead of trying to look for a deal on something I might like, I decided to create a custom piece I knew I’d love.

For this project I used a large picture frame I already owned.

If you don’t have one, you can always find them at the Goodwill or on Craigslist for under $5.

I also used white poster board from the dollar tree and about  34 Gold Vinyl Dots.
After disassembling the frame and painting it white, I began working on the actual art.

There was no rhyme or reason to my placement of the gold dots. I just placed them where it felt right. I even began overlapping some of the to add more dimension.
Once I was done, I placed the poster on top of the original photo, and reassembled the frame.

I’ve since moved this piece from my office to our family room.

Now that I’ve taken this piece from my office, I’ll need to create something else to fill the space.

I have another DIY artwork project planned which I’ll share with you soon.
