DIY Target Accent Table Hack

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve shared a project with you guys, mostly because we were finishing up our master bedroom floor install. I’ll share more about the before, during and after install once I get time to upload and edit the photos.
In the meantime, let me show you what I did to that damaged table I bought from Target.

Y’all already know how I like to scour the clearance sections, especially the one at Target, and find nice things for my home, so when I saw this cute table I instantly knew it would be a great fit for my reading nook, but it wasn’t the right color, plus it was damaged.

Pieces like this can be used as table or stool and if you decide to duplicate this project, there are lot’s of options for similar tables out there.
Here are some tables that would work for this project as well.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
So once I got it home, I disassembled my table. My goal was to make it fit more with my decor.
A portion of the table was cracked as you can see in my Target haul video so I decided to just recover the entire table top using black vinyl fabric

I cut a square piece of vinyl slightly larger than the circumference of the table top and attached it using a staple gun. This is the one I use for most of my projects.
I was sure to pull the vinyl tight as I stapled so that the surface would be as smooth as possible. Once the fabric was attached, I trimmed of the excess material.
I trimmed pretty close to the staples because I didn’t want any excess material to be visible once this was complete.
The last thing I did was spray paint the legs using three coats of this gold spray paint. Once it was dry, I reassembled the table. I think it turned out just fabulous. Because I upholstered the tabletop with this thick vinyl, the cushy enough to be used as a stool as well.
My DIY Target Accent Table Hack turned out perfectly to nestle beside a glider rocking chair I’ve had since my fourteen year old was a baby.
