I’m officially in love with my Cricut Explore Air™ 2. At first I was intimidated but like with anything else, the more I practice the better I get. The Cricut Explore Air™ 2 is very user friendly and has every tool I need to make fun projects at home.
My latest project and best yet are these DIY Personalized Glasses and Mugs. Anytime I can insert some inspiration into my life I go for it. Whether on a t-shirt, cup or mug I love seeing messaging that inspires me. Since I love those kinds of things I typically gift people with things that excite me which is what prompted this idea. We’re not exchanging gifts with the adults in the family this year because they all have everything already and we have so many new children in our family we want to focus on them. Even though we’re not spending money on adult gifts, I knew I wanted to create something special using what I had on hand. Using some inexpensive drinkware, I was able to create unique items for some special folks in my family. I used some images and font from Cricut Access to create each decal in Cricut Design Space.

Step 1– Design the vinyl decal in Cricut Design Space using the images and text available in Cricut Access.
Step 2– Apply the vinyl to the LightGrip mat and start the Cricut Explore Air 2 cutting process.
Step 3– Remove the vinyl from the LightGrip mat and trim off excess vinyl from each decal before weeding with your tools. Step 4– After weeding the decal, press it onto transfer tape. Wipe the mug/glass surface with a cotton ball swabbed with alcohol and let it dry before applying the decal.Step 5– Press the transfer tape with the decal onto the glass/mug surface. Using the scraper, press each piece of vinyl firmly onto the glass/mug. Peel away the transfer tape to reveal the finished project.
I absolutely love the simplicity of DIY Personalized Drinkware because I can choose meaningfulness messaging for each recipient. Here’s a few more photos of the finished project!
