DIY Father's Day Jersey
Father’s Day will be here before we know it and I want to make it uber special for my husband. He’s an amazing dad and deserves to be pampered on his special day. His gifts will include things he needs and things he wants. He’ll also get a gift from me and one from the kids. The one from the kids will be this DIY Father’s Day Jersey. It’s made using the softest tee ever. I could have gone cheap, but I really wanted my babe to feel comfy when he wears his Father’s Day gift.

The tee I used is from the NEW 3-Pack of Hanes® Superior Soft T-shirts. It’s made with a Cotton-Modal blend that offers superior comfort. When my youngest son felt the finished tee, he remarked on how soft the tee was and he could care less about softness, but still noticed.

Hanes® Superior Soft T-shirts also includes FreshIQ™ advanced odor protection technology, quick drying and durable fabric which is perfect as we move into the hot summer months. If you’re going to make this project, don’t go with a cheap, rough tee. Spend the $12 and grab the 3 Pack of Hanes® Superior Soft T-shirts in Crewneck and V-neck, available at Hanes.com and Walmart.com

  • black fabric paint
  • painter tape
  • paint brush

Instructions

1. Tape off a sections 1 inch apart on each sleeve. Lay three strips of tape across the bottom of the shirt 1 inch apart.

2. Paint the space between the tape on the sleeve and the space between the tape at the bottom of the shirt. Allow it to dry completely. Flip the shirt and repeat the step for the sleeve on the back of the shirt. Allow it to dry completely.

3. Peel away the tape once the paint is dry and begin placing your iron on letters where you want them on the shirt. Iron them on per the package instructions.

4. Once the shirt has cooled for 10 minutes, it’s ready to wear. Since this is a gift for my husband I didn’t get him to take a picture with it on like I did when I made my DIY Graphic Tee.

The jersey style tee turned out so nice and I can’t wait to see my husband wearing it. To ensure the tee get’s plenty of wear, it’s best to wash this tee by hand of inside out on the gentle cycle. Once my husband get’s his gift I will share some pictures on instagram of him in it, but for now here are some pictures of the completed tee hanging up.
