The following content is intended for readers who are 21 or older. #CervezaCelebration #CollectiveBias So I was thinking Cinco De Mayo is coming up and when my kids were young, my husband and I couldn’t get out of the house much to celebrate with friends. Part of being a parent sometimes means giving up your social life with friends and sneaking in date nights in the car after the kids are asleep. That was pretty much our mode of socializing. We’d cook up something delicious to enjoy while watching a movie and then head to the car for a frugal date night under the stars. These were some [Click here to continue reading]

Spicy Roasted Corn, Chicken and Avocado Salad

This post was sponsored by Sunshine Sweet Corn as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. This time of year makes me long for easy lunches that are hearty enough to fill me up, but fresh, light and easy to prepare. My life is busy right. Too busy for complicated meal plans. So when I’m planning my lunches for the week I look for dishes that are easy to make and flavorful. One recipe that made it on my menu this week is a Spicy Roasted Corn, Chicken and Avocado Salad made using fresh Sunshine Sweet Corn, leftover chicken and in season produce.  I found this recipe on SunshineSweetCorn.com under the recipe tab. I’d never had corn and [Click here to continue reading]

On-Trend Affordable Prescription Eyeglasses

These super cute, on-trend affordable perscription eyeglasses and blog post are sponsored on behalf of EyeWearInsight.com Gone are the days where prescription eyeglass wearers have to buy eyeglasses from the selection offered by their optometrist. I’ve been mail ordering my prescription glasses online ever since paying $145 for a pair of eyeglasses I didn’t love but bought because were the best-looking pair my optometrist offered. Once I figured out I could order my own prescription eyeglasses online I’ve been doing that ever since. I can’t see without eyeglasses so they’re something I wear every day. If I have to have them on every day, they definitely have to be stylish.  I love to switch up frames based on what I’m wearing or how I’m feeling [Click here to continue reading]

Easy DIY Vanity Tray

This easy DIY Vanity Tray and my shopping trip have been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #SoFreshSoFrench #CollectiveBias I just love those cute vanity trays I see in the home decor store that are labeled with words like “ring” or “lotion”. The ones I see are usually white with black words and didn’t fit the style I wanted for my guest bath so I decided to make my own. I wanted a place to display toiletries and cute decor on the vanity for my guest. While doing some girl time shopping I came across the new to America, Le Petit Marseillais™ display at Walmart. The collection has 17 products and can be found on the specialty bath [Click here to continue reading]

Braid Out on 4C Hair & New Rimmel London Matte Lipsticks

I’ve been loving the freedom that comes with having shorter hair and I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts. When my hair isn’t in a protective style, it’s usually worn in a blowout or twist out. When I do twist out, I can start with wet or dry hair depending on the look I’m going for. This one was done on wet hair which results in a smaller afro and tighter coiled hair. After my wash routine, I towel dried my hair and did the L.O.C. method for moisture. L.O.C. is an acronym for Leave-in-Conditioner, Oil, and Cream. With the L.O.C. method, I saturate my hair with my leave in, then use coconut oil to seal in the moisture and work the cream into my [Click here to continue reading]

4 Tips for Establishing a Good Breakfast Routine

This post is written by me on behalf of General Mills. All opinions are entirely my own. This shop has been compensated by Acorn Influence, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. I love this time of the year. It’s when I get to refocus my efforts especially those related to fitness and health. This year one of my goals is to eat breakfast more often. If you follow me on Instagram, I often mention how hard it is for me to eat breakfast in the mornings. I’m usually tired and unprepared so I skip it, even though I know breakfast one of the most important meals of the day. I work out early in the mornings, so skipping breakfast isn’t the wisest [Click here to continue reading]
