You guys should hear my husband and boys when football is on. We are definitely a house divided during game time. My sons love the teams they love and my husband is the same. They each have their reasons and it’s so funny watching them trash talk the others team. During game time I stay out of the may lay. In fact, you’ll usually find me in the kitchen cooking up our favorite foods.
This week I made the Best Southern Baked Beans Ever. I’ve been trying to perfect the recipe for a few months now and I’ve finally got it. These sweet baked beans with grilled hot dogs are perfect while watching the football game. I often buy pre-made baked beans from the store, but don’t like the pork found in most store bought baked beans. That’s why I decided to make them myself and it wasn’t difficult. Now that I make them at home I get to control the quality of the ingredients and the flavor.

My Southern Baked Beans are made with fresh great northern beans and flavored with brown sugar, molasses, mustard and French’s ketchup.

If you’re not making your ketchup from scratch, French’s is a great store bought option. The flavors in French’s are created using real sugar, high-quality tomatoes, has no high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, or artificial flavors and colors. Using French’s lets me make these delicious baked beans at home, but with ingredients, I recognize and feel good about feeding my family.

  • 4 cups soaked and cooked cannellini or great northern beans
  • 1/2 cup of  French’s ketchup
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon of mustard

First, I pre-measure all of my ingredients using my PW Autumn Harvest Measuring bowls. Then I mix everything in a large bowl and transfer it into four single serve baking dishes. Finally, I bake the beans at 350 degrees for 60 minutes until bubbly.

Aside, from using French’s because of the real ingredients, and great taste, I use French’s products to help support their partnership with Feeding America. Through this partnership, they’re helping to donate 10 million meals in 2017. How awesome is that?

French’s ketchup can be found in the condiment aisle at Walmart.  To learn more check out this video.
