I’m sharing our after school snack station to show you how simple it is to organize and how the products in mine can earn us up 90 free Scholastic books. 

In the last two weeks we’ve started back to school shopping. We always back to school shop during the summer picking up clothes, shoes, supplies and school snacks. It costs us a couple hundred dollars in fees, and supplies so we spread our expenses out over the summer. 

Picking up a few items each week helps us prep a little at a time. This week we started purchasing foods and snacks my kids will want. We did our shopping at Walmart after learning about the Start school like a champion promotion.

The promotion is exclusive to Walmart stores and let’s us earn up to 90 free Scholastic book with the purchase of participating items. 

With over 100 Coca-Cola, Kellogg’s and Hershey’s products to choose we jotted down ones that would make great quick grab snacks. All of the products are ones we already know and love so making the list was easy.

After shopping, I had the kids log in to our Kellogg’s Family Rewards account to upload our receipt and claim their books. The process was really easy and we were choosing our books within a few hours of getting an approval on our receipt.

Here’s how to redeem the book rewards.

1. Buy any participating Coca-Cola, Hershey’s, Kellogg’s, or J.M. Smucker product at Walmart between 6/29/16 and 9/30/16. For a full list of participating products, refer to StartSchoolLikeAChampion.com. 

2. Join or log in to Kellogg’s Family Rewards.

4. Choose or donate your free book.

After the kids chose their few books, we started laying out our after school snack station.

How to Create an After School Snack Station

I use stackable plastic bins which are a good size. They fit well on shelves, in a cabinet or on the counter. 

We used six of these containers last year for kids snacks and my husbands snacks. Labels helped us figure out who’s snacks were who’s. 

You’ll notice the PopTarts packaging all looks identical. To help figure out which flavor is inside I clip the box top and put in the bottom of storage bin.

This is our way of making sure the kids can grab a quick snack after school and get started on homework.
