5 Ways to Add Gold Accents to Your Home Decor

I’m so excited to see the gold trend coming back. I’ve been seeing the gold trend show up  in shoes, jewelry and home decor.

I already had many gold frames in my home so I was no stranger to gold home decor but I was growing tired of my decor and decided to make some small changes that would make me feel more inspired with my living areas.

5 Ways I Added Gold Decor to My Home

1. Gold Knickknacks

The easiest way was to spray paint something small and almost insignificant.

My two oldest children have given me over the years that they’d collected on trips to Myrtle Beach.

I also had a shell I’d bought for them from a souvenir shop while on vacation in Mexico.

I’d already been seeing gold toned shells in home decor stores but I was was able to recreate the same look with spray paint and shells I already owned.

2.  Gold Framed Art

This project was done on a whim using (insert Amazon link) vinyl circles I purchased for my bedroom focal wall.

My bedroom is 14×24 feet long which means there is a lot of wall space. Using thrifted frames I created a really neat art to frame my flat screen television.

3. Re-purposed Housewares

I picked up this wine bottle holder at a local thrift store for $2.50 because I knew they’d be perfect for a set of glass wine shaped water bottles in my bedroom.

We like to keep fresh water in our bedroom and I knew this would make a great place to store the bottle we had.

After a few coats of spray paint I had another gold accent for my home that I loved.

I’ve since started using the wine rack for my jewelry and love it to bits!!

4. Gold Wall Treatment

I wanted to do something different with our bedroom walls but I didn’t feel like painting the room so I went’ with something less permanent.

I picked on wall and decided to use vinyl gold circles to make it a focal wall. This is the first wall you see when you enter my bedroom and is visible form the hallway when my door is open.

I wanted this wall to be pretty when my bedroom door is open and with the gold circles I just love it.

5. Furniture Hardware

This is a fun way to update a piece of furniture without a lot of cost or effort. I’m in the process of painting my dresser white and adding gold hardware.

Once the dresser is complete I will share the finished project. For now here is the dresser so far.

Spread the love
