Do any of you dislike cleaning the bathrooms before guests arrive, especially the commode? Cleaning the bathroom is one of those tasks that can be down right disgusting, but it doesn’t have to be. With 15 years of home making experience under my belt, I’ve learned a trick or two that makes cleaning the bathroom just as easy as any other room the house. Following these 4 yuck free ways to prep your guest bathroom before the holiday’s, will get your bathroom clean and smelling fresh in no-time minus the yuckiness!

4 Yuck Free Ways to Prep Your Guest Bathroom for the Holiday's

To kick off the cleaning session I gather a few cleaning tools that will not only help me clean my bathroom, but will get it smelling fresh in a yuck free way. Here are the tools I use and the tips that make cleaning the bathroom a breeze.

Tip 1: Wear rubber gloves when doing the dirty jobs.

Rubber Gloves are a must-have for yuck free bathroom cleaning. There is nothing like the yucky feel of toilet water splashing up on your hands while swishing. To prevent that from happening, grab a pair of rubber glove that cover up to the forearm.

Tip 2: Clean the floor with a disposable mop.

Disposable Mops are a sanity saver!  Raise your hand if you like ringing out a mop that has been drug across the bathroom floor? How about one that cleaned around the toilet? I for one don’t like putting my hands in yucky mop water, so using a disposable mop is my go-to tool for cleaning the bathroom floor. It gets the floor clean and keep my hands clean.

Tip 3: Wipe everything with disposable cleaning wipes.

Disinfectant Wipes are a must have, so yes girl, go ahead and splurge on these. With disposable cleaning wipes, all of the disgusting grit, grime and germs will end up in the trash after wiping, not in your laundry basket or washing machine. The thought of cloths that cleaned the toilet in the laundry grosses out. With disposable wipes, you don’t have to think about bathroom gunk mixing in with your laundry.

Tip 4: Tackle the stink before it happens!

Poo~Pourri will help with that. Oh you haven’t heard of Poo~Pourri? Poo~Pourri is a fun new spray that transforms your bathroom experience (and those who come in after you) by stopping bathroom odor before it begins! It comes in these little bottles and there are several scents to choose from. These are available at Poo~Pourri.com. I have Poo~Pourri’s Secret Santa, Lavender Vanilla and the Merry Spritzmas® Ornament. Two of the scents are on the guest bath toilet bowl tank along with instructions on how to use them. I don’t want my guest to think Poo~Pourri is an air-freshener so I print and frame instructions explaining how it works. {Download the printable here}

All you do is spritz Poo~Pourri into the toilet bowl before-you-go, and Poo~Pourri’s pure blend of natural essential oils creates a film on the surface of the water. The protective barrier traps odor under the surface, before it ever begins! And all my guest smell is a refreshing bouquet of natural essential oils. All of the scents smell amazing, but my favorite is Merry Spritzmas®. It has a yummy peppermint, vanilla and citrus scent that you wouldn’t expect to find in a restroom. It leaves the whole bathroom and hallway outside of the guest bath smelling amazing. It kind of makes you want to go in just to smell it. There’s another holiday scent that smells amazing too called Secret Santa. It’s a mix of cinnamon, vanilla and citrus natural essential oils. I can see why Poo~Pourri has received over 5,000 5 star reviews with 40MM bottles sold. Using them to combat bathroom odor is discreet and leaves the bathroom smelling fresh for the next guest.
