3 Ways to Wrap and Present your Mother's Day Gift

I hosted my very first Mother’s Day brunch the year before last for the mother’s in my immediate family. There’s me, my mom, my mother-in-law, daughter and sister-in-law. The brunch wasn’t actually on Mother’s Day but the week before.

It was such a fun event that allowed the mother’s in my family to relax and enjoy a day of pampering stress free. This was actually my husbands idea and the rules, were that the women would not lift a finger. My husband cooked all of the food and the men and boys served us. After eating we had a time of recognition and gift giving. I took time to personally address each of the others in my family to tell them how amazing they were and how much they helped me become the woman I am today. After the recognition, each mom received a small gift. This year, we plan to personally deliver gifts to my mother and mother-in-law. I’m going to present each of them with flowers and a personalized gift. My goal is to make their day special. Mother’s Day is about family and American Greetings is helping me celebrate the two women who have been such a blessing to me.

You guys know how much I love to create, so both my mom and mother in law will get a unique gift special wrapped using a combination of American Greetings cards, tissue paper, and gift wrap.

Both moms will get a DIY Mother’s Day Bouquet in a bag and a wrapped gift. Using their gifts, I’ll show you three ways I’m using American Greetings products to create fun and uniquely wrapped gifts for them.

For thier wrapped gift, I added a little extra to make it special. First, I wrapped the gift boxes in a pretty quilted American Greetings wrapping paper. The pearl colored paper is super thick and has a gorgeous rasied pattern.

Next, I created a fringe banner using one sheet of pink and one sheet of blue American Greetings tissue paper. The tutorial is below and it just takes a few folds, and some snips to create the fringes.

Fringe banner

  • American Greetings wrapping paper
  • American Greetings tissue papier
  • Scissors
  • hot glue & glue gun
  • tape

1. First, wrap you gift. Then fold the tissue paper into thirds and cut away 1/3. Take the cut piece and begin folding it back and forth like you’d do if you were making a paper fan.

2. Now take your scissors and begin snipping one edged of the paper. You can make your snips as narrow as wide as you like.

3. Once your done sniping from end to end, crmply the fringes a bit between you fngers to sperate them a little. Then hot glue the fringe onto you wrapped gift edge.

4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for a second banner. To glue, just overlap it on top of the first baner.

2. Draw the shape of a flower into your square. Cut out the shape of a flower.

3. Stager layers and staples center. Crumple the layers in the palm of your hand and fluff to make petals.

4. Hot glue the bottom sheet of the flower to you gift.
