Little Black Dress

When you saw the title I bet you were thinking this would be a fashion post. My bad. Don’t be disappointed though because it’ll be just as good. This Little Black Dress isn’t a dress at all, it is an affordable and delicious female-centric wine collection. They are the brain-child of Margaret Leonardi and are crafted in California. I adore the cute feminine packaging from the muted pink and peach foil to the delicate LBD font on the label and cork. Pinot Grigio Grapes: This wine is predominately Pinot Grigio, with small amounts of Chardonnay, Muscat, and Viognier grapes. Flavor: It has a light, pale yellow color with scents of apple, pear and lemongrass upfront followed by hints of orange and tangerine. Pairing: Little Black Dress [Click here to continue reading]

School Year Routine

School Year Routine

My school year routine is inspired by the new new Oui by Yoplait Yogurts. This is a sponsored post written on behalf of Yoplait. It’s that time of year again when us momma’s are either excited or anxious about our kids going back to school. I’m one of the excited momma’s. My kids are all teens and growing into little adults. As a mom who’s put in years to help them get to this point, I’m excited for them. The transition back to school means I’ll have more quiet time to work from home and more time to care for me. I’m very intentional about  having a healthy balance between caring for my family and myself. School Year Routine So let me share a few things [Click here to continue reading]

I’m super excited becasue I’ll be taking a break from cooking that week to let my husband show off his skills. My husband grills most of our meals during the summer and has been doing so for years. While I’m the primary cook in our home, he is definietly king of the grill. So how did I get him to do more of the cooking? My husband is a Southern man to his core and grilling is in his blood. It’s just what you do during the summer and fall. In fact, there [Click here to continue reading]

It was some years ago that I began to notice, when the house was disheveled I was grumpy. I also noticed when the house was neat and organized, I was calm and happy. It’s taken some time to master, but I’ve realized with a busy family, the house can’t always be spic and span. Instead of focusing on the messes,  I could create small comfort zone or happy places. These little zones help me relax and remind me of what’s important. They are filled with small things that [Click here to continue reading]

Top 6 Tips for Taking Back To School Photos

This post is sponsored by Kohl’s. I received the included Carter’s clothes as compensation. My grandson is going to 4-year old kindergarten this year so I called my daughter up, who lives an hour or so from me, and said let’s do some back to school shopping for Kari. I called her on video chat and we spent the good part of two days ordering school clothes from Kohl’s for him. She logged on, created a Kohl’s account we could both see and added items to her shopping cart. I was able to do the same from my end. We were looking at Carter’s clothes for him since he’s at that not a baby stage, but not quite a big kid. Carter’s has the perfect [Click here to continue reading]

DIY Stencil Binder Cover

This simple DIY stenciled binder cover tutorial and shopping trip has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MyGo2Pen #CollectiveBias Can you believe school will be starting up again in a few weeks? I’m the type who likes to get my back-to-school shopping and planning out of the way as earlier as possible. I hate fighting the crowds and finding empty school supply aisles at the stores. Last week I shopped for the kid’s clothes and this week we started buying school supplies. We went to Walmart to buy some of the basics like binder and pens. I bought some view binders for the kids and one to create their school year binder. Every year, I create a [Click here to continue reading]
